When to seek medical care

Knowing when to seek medical care matters before choosing a drip for headache, nausea, heat exposure or fatigue. THEDROP’s Nairobi guide helps you recognise situations that need assessment or urgent care.

A symptom menu is an invitation to assessment

Headache, nausea, stomach illness, menstrual symptoms and fatigue can have different causes. An infusion name does not provide a diagnosis. Tell the clinician when symptoms began, how severe they are, what has changed and what treatment you have tried. Some concerns need examination or testing before any medication or fluid decision.

Some situations should not wait for a mobile visit

Sudden severe headache, chest pain, difficulty breathing, collapse, confusion, unusual weakness or significant bleeding require urgent medical assessment. Persistent vomiting or an inability to keep fluids down can also need prompt advice. If the person is severely unwell, seek emergency care rather than preparing a wellness enquiry.

Pregnancy, heat and weight concerns need context

Pregnancy-related nausea should be discussed with an appropriately qualified clinician, particularly with poor intake or worsening symptoms. Heat exposure with confusion or collapse is not a routine sunburn drip request. Weight and metabolic care should involve a proper clinical plan; this site does not offer an IV weight-loss promise or an unsupervised medicine course.

Questions to bring to your consultation

  • What is the reason for the proposed care, and could another approach be more suitable?
  • Who is responsible for assessment, prescribing and monitoring, and how can I verify their professional status?
  • What is the complete price in KES, expected appointment time and follow-up plan?

Questions before you choose

Can a headache drip treat every migraine?

No. The diagnosis, medicines and setting must be assessed. New or severe unusual symptoms should not be assumed to be a familiar migraine.

Can I book pregnancy nausea treatment through the menu?

You can prepare an enquiry, but appropriate pregnancy assessment and care arrangements must be established before treatment.
